Massproductions and the artist Flora Mottini work together in order to rework used armchairs. The Swedish-based label and the artist gave a second life to Crown Armchairs. As a result, they got a fluffy design with a vintage vibe.
The collaboration is a part of Face Lift that strives to help customers save and repair their already existing furniture. And in addition to the launch, Massproductions has presented The Crown Jewels where four different artists reworked the chair.
For the partnership, Mottini took inspiration from sci-fi images, psychedelia, and surrealism. In a press release, the artist shared that landscape, navigation, and horizon based on the cartoons of the ’30s to ’50s are present in her artistic practice. Flora also shared that she loves observing things in the everyday life.
The silhouette itself is made in blue color. The furniture is reworked with a soft foam material that was taken from the artist’s previous works. The fabric is attached to the piece in random patterns.
The item will be presented in an exhibition that will take place at the brand’s showroom starting from December 2021 to January 20, 2022.
