Spa-Like Atmosphere in Bathrooms

According to a recent survey, Americans want relaxation to be featured in their bathrooms. Houzz shared the data where more than 68% of 3,000 homeowners who participated in the survey prefer a spa-like atmosphere for their bathroom projects.

The large home renovation platform connects the results with the pandemic consequences when homeowners want to rest in their bathrooms. And creating a calming place with premium pieces, such as hygienic surfaces and greenery is very important.

For example, 79% included premium features in their bathrooms, including soaking tubs, silent whirlpools, as well as rainfall showerheads, showers for two persons, and body sprays.

The survey also says that lighting is one of the wanted upgrades. Now, homeowners want more natural light and improved artificial light in order to add atmosphere to the room.

The design platform reports that 78% of homeowners prefer mirrors in their bathrooms. Some of them want mirrors to have such features as LED lighting and anti-fog systems. Medicine cabinets also got lighting capability.

As for the toilet improvements, this year people prefer the toilets with the self-cleaning feature, heated seats, as well as built-in nightlights, and overflow protection.
