Fendi House Collaborates With Botswana-Based Mabeo Studio for the Furniture Design

Fendi House Collaborates With Botswana-Based Mabeo Studio

Fendi partners with Design Miami again, the show will run until December 5. The luxury group from Rome and Mabeo, known as the furniture and accessories created a collection to highlight Botswana’s craftsmanship. As a result, the house and the design studio got 10 pieces of furniture.

The collection is titled Kompa and is created by individual artisans as well as craftspeople who used various techniques. The Loma Stool consists of three objects that can be applied in different ways.

Two other works that are featured in the collection more directly reference the collaboration with Kim Jones. According to the brand's artistic director of women’s wear, the line blinds the boundaries of traditional materials and techniques.

The Efo Stool has the house's motif combined with wood. While other items vary from the Chichira Cabinet that is the largest piece in the collection.

In addition, Mabeo reimagined the brand's signature handbag using traditional methods of stitching. The collection is completed with a limited-edition publication that serves as a visual record of the road trips, meetings, as well as works and drawings for each of the pieces.
